There are moments when I revisit the pod when I watch something that makes me laugh so hard that I’m reduced to tears. This was one of them. I knew each of the guys had beef with this one particular scene so I was curious to see who would jump on it first. Matt Gabriele sent a fastball down the plate about 550 feet the other way.1 And watch for Thomas Lecaque to lose control of his bodily senses.
As much fun as we had in this moment, what I loved is how much insight these historians brought to things like the diversity of Messina, Mediterranean shipping routes, and the battles that actually should have been on film. Checking the stats this morning, the episode is already the seventh-highest we’ve ever done and that’s after three days. Y’all clearly love medieval movies.2 I’m already working on getting A Knight’s Tale on the pod in the coming months.

From the "Small World" files:
I've only just listened to this pod (okay, I'm behind - but I'm catching up!) and heard that one of your contributors played White Wolf games.
I was actually the lead author of White Wolf's "Jerusalem by Night", a supplement that places vampires... in Jerusalem... in the Crusades. (https://www.amazon.com/Jerusalem-Night-Vampire-Dark-Ages/dp/1565042999)
(The things starving grad students will do to pay the rent...!)
Love *The Bright Ages*, well written and wide ranging.
