The Waiting Clock
For divorced parents who live far away, every reunion comes with an expiration date.
This time around, the clock started before he ever arrived in Colorado. It began a few days earlier when I landed in Tampa to watch my younger son, Benjamin, graduate from 8th grade. Then, he'd fly with me to Colorado where he would spend three weeks before going home to his mom. Set the clock to 24 days.
When you're a father who lives across the country, you live and breathe with the clock.
