The Ground between Us
Why we hunt (and why it matters)
We often use this space to talk about the work of my guests on my podcast—historians, scientists, actors, directors—people who I think are doing interesting work. But today I get to be the guest for once, joining in on Eli Henderson's The Ground between Us, a new podcast devoted to how we use public lands.
Eli invited me on to talk about maybe a side of me that I don't share often enough—that of a guy growing up hunting and fishing in the Kentucky and Louisiana backcountry.
So today I invite you to listen to someone else's podcast, as well talk about the emotional and spiritual connections to the outdoors, thoughts on environmental history, and the giant flathead catfish that has followed my family for generations.
Long live Ekenhammer.
