We’ve been hinting at this for a long while so it’s time to finally share the news: Historians At The Movies has partnered with Primary Source Media to release our first co-production: The Historians At The Movies YouTube page.
This has been in the works for a long time and the partnership is the first in a series of big reveals coming to you in the new few months. Initially PSM will be doing the video production on the HATM Podcast, meaning you now have access to all of your favorite pods on YouTube. We’re starting with a few recent episodes and will recent new episodes each week, along with one from the archive so you can view all of your favorite pods.
So why PSM? Folks, I have been hyper protective of this community we have created. I believe in it to my bones. But there’s only so much I and producer Fletcher Powell can do on our own. My friends over at PSM reached out and though I was hesitant, won me over with their honesty, their enthusiasm, and their vision for what HATM can grow to be. You can find more about their work right here: https://www.primarysourcemedia.com/
Adding YouTube is the next part of the big push for HATM. I see this community evolving to be the very center of history, pop culture, and entertainment. We are already in the position to get pretty much any scholar we want on the pod. Now we want filmmakers. But that takes another level of legitimacy. We need to generate excitement. And that’s where you come in.
Today we will launch with an aggressive foray on social media- the entire goal being to introduce and legitimize HATM to audiences beyong this community. We need to blanket social media. We need you to retweet, share, quote-tweet, copy/paste, and carrier pigeon HATM to the masses. We need you to like and subscribe to the page. We need enthusiasm to get in front of as many eyes as possible. So share the crap out of this.
In the meantime, we have a TON of scholars and filmmakers lined up for the pod. We have stuff I can’t even tell you about yet. We are going to make some real pushes through the rest of 2024 and into 2025. And as we always have, we will do it as a COMMUNITY.

And for your weekday drives, this week we are joined by John Wyatt Greenlee, Leah Lagrone, and Jamie Goodall to talk about The Goonies.
Guys, I am so proud of what we are doing. Aside from my boys, it is the thing I am most proud of in this world. And it is because of the belief that you have in me, this community, and the idea that we can do something different. Thank you so much for being here.
Jason
Congratulations
